Anna T. Watson of Raeford, NC passed away peacefully in her Daughters home on February 11, 2018.Anna was born May 14, 1925 in Garmisch, Germany~(a PROUD Bavarian)~She met her late husband, James C. Watson, in the early 1950s in Garmisch where he was stationed. She immigrated to the US in May of 1955 and married James in Baltimore, MD. Anna became a US Citizen in New York City, NY in 1956.They traveled the world during James US Army career. While stationed in Italy they had their only child, Caroline. They retired to Fayetteville, NC in late 1968.Anna worked at Thalhimers in Cross Creek Mall for years and then Avis Rent-A-Car at the Fayetteville Airport. She was a Red Cross Volunteer at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii and Womack Army Medical Center, Ft Bragg, NC.Anna enjoyed her many friends while drinking coffee and eating pastries at Hanseat European Bakery for many years.She is survived by her daughter Caroline Nicol and a few cousinsin Garmisch and Regensburg, Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents Georg and Anna Glatz, husband James C. Watson and Son-in-law Nic Nicol.Funeral Mass will be at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 6199 Fayetteville Road, Raeford, NC, Tuesday, February 27th at 11:00 am. There will be cake and coffee (Annis favorite) in the social hall immediately following the Mass.In lieu of cut flowers, a potted plant may be donated to be planted in Annas garden, or donations can be made to the Hospice Foundation of Hoke County in Annas name at P.O. Box 1584, Raeford, NC 28376. We would like to thank Liberty Hospice of Raeford for taking excellent care of Anna the last couple of years of her life.
