Mrs. Carolyn Jean Holmes of Fayetteville passed away in her home on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the age of 65. Mrs. Holmes was born in Mercer County, WV on August 13, 1951 to the late Paris Sadler and Beryl Hall Sadler. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Alma Marie "Susie" Leffew. Carolyn was a supporting, loving, and faithful wife, mother, and grandmother. Along with gardening, Carolyn was very creative in both arts and crafts, as well as baking. She was a member of the Raeford First Baptist Church and served in the US Airforce. Carolyn graduated from Campbell University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. She leaves behind her husband of 38 years, John Holmes of Fayetteville; her daughters, Heather Holmes of Fayetteville, Amanda Duggan (Charles) of Jacksonville; her grandson, Brennan Cox; her brothers, Paris Sadler (Linda) of Lexington, Roger Sadler (Jimmietta) of Linwood, Christopher Sadler (Robin) of Salisbury; her sister, Deborah Chriscoe of Linwood. A visitation will be held Thursday evening between the hours of 6-8pm at the Raeford First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 24th at the Raeford First Baptist Church with Reverend Tom Lee officiating.
