Mr. Charles Lindberg "Lindy" Ellis of Raeford, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital at the age of 89. Mr. Ellis was born November 29, 1927 in Hoke County to the late Ras B. Ellis and Alice New Ellis. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was employed with NCDOT as an equipment operator. Mr.Ellis is survived by his wife of 67 years Delauris B. Ellis of Raeford, a daughter Gail E. Jackson and her husband David of Fayetteville, a son Lynn Ellis and his wife Lisa of Raeford, 2 grandchildren Allyson Jackson-Steen and her husband Chet, Lucas Ellis and his wife Frankie and 5 great-grandchildren, Caden, Easton, Ellison, Charlie and Cash. A visitation will be held 2-3 pm Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 3pm in the Chapel.
