Mr. Donnie Forest Carter of Hope Mills passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Highsmith Rainey Hospital at the age of 57. Mr. Carter was born in Fayetteville on August 23, 1959 to the late Forest "Bunk" Carter and Myrtle Norris Carter. Donnie retired from Black and Decker. Donnie has always enjoyed visiting the mountains and reading. A lover of precious gems, antiques, and other unique items, Donnie always kept people on their toes with his dry sense of humor. He leaves behind his sons, Joshua Carter of Raeford, Benjamin Carter of Raeford; his sister, Betty Craig Deppert of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; the mother of his sons, Pamela Harden of Raeford; many extended family members. A memorial service will be held 6:00 pm, on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Raeford. The family will receive friends and family following the service in the fellowship hall.
