Jeffrey L. Sumner

Mr. Jeffrey L. Sumner, formerly of Raeford, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017, in the FirstHealth Hospice House at the age of 77. Mr. Sumner was born on July 25, 1940 to the late Herbert and Elizabeth Sumner. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Frances Cook Sumner; his daughter Lisa; his brothers, Grant, Conrad, Grady, Gerald; his sisters, Beverly and Sally. A mighty man of God, and an avid outdoorsmen, Jeff will be missed by those whose lives he touched. He is survived by his sons, Barry Lynn Sumner, Jeffrey Todd Sumner and his wife, Maria; his daughters, Melissa S. Williams, Heather S. Cummings and her husband, Keith; his brother, Gordon Sumner; his sister, Mary Cook and her husband, Tom, Brenda Allred, Kay Laughlin; his grandchildren; Nicole Collins, Trey Williams, Paige Sumner, Jeffrey Sumner, Jacob Sumner, Hannah and Garrett Sumner and their mother, Parker. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 between the hours of 6pm and 8pm at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in the Alamance Memorial Park Cemetery, 4039 S. Church St, Burlington, NC 27215.
