Louise Morris Johnston

Mrs. Louise Morris Johnston, 94, of Raeford was called home to her place in God's kingdom October 2, 2016, at First Health of the Carolinas in Pinehurst, NC. Mrs. Johnston was born November 11, 1921 in York County, SC to the late Haywood and Daisy Treadwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben Hillis Morris, Sr., her son, William "Billy" Morris of Raeford, a sister, Helen Ivey Hill, brothers, Gordon Treadwell and Ted Treadwell. Mrs. Johnston was long time resident of Hoke County and the Arabia community. She was a member of Sandy Grove United Methodist Church. Mrs. Johnston is survived by two daughters, Hilda Morris Pulkrabek (Dale) of Crystal River, Fl, Debra Morris VanEvery Smith (Douglas) of Rockport, TX, a son, Reuben Hillis Morris Jr. (Veronica) of Raeford, two sisters, Annie Ruth Scott (Charles) of Loxley, AL, Nora McMillan Meismer (JC) of Raeford, one brother, Gordon Treadwell (Cathy) of Fayetteville, daughter in law, Paula Morris of Lumber Bridge, 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. The family would like to extend special thanks to Mrs. Johnston's longtime friend and caregiver, Judy Richardson of Raeford and all the employees of Autumn Care of Raeford for the love and care they extended to our mother over the last 5 years. A celebration of life will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Sandy Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Larry Chandler and Reverend Virgil Dwyer officiating.
