Mary Jane Marsh, 99, passed away November 21, 2015, at Fox Hollow Senior Living in Pinehurst, NC. Mrs. Marsh, the daughter of the late Thomas Argulus and Marguerite Corder Cousar, was born in and spent her early childhood in Chester, SC. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Argulus Cousar, Jr. After moving to Fayetteville, NC as an early teenager, Mrs. Marsh graduated from Fayetteville City Schools and attended Women's College in Greensboro. In 1936 she married the late William H. 'Bill' Marsh of Fayetteville and they were for many years members of Highland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Marsh was active in many church and civic activities, including serving several terms on the Fayetteville City School Board in the 1950's. She was known as a very competitive bridge player achieving her Life Master designation. Mrs. Marsh moved to Pinehurst in about 1975 and was a member of Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church for thirty nine years. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Silver Foils at Pinehurst Country Club. She is survived by three children- son William H. 'Bill' Marsh, Jr. (Edee) of Santa Fe, NM; son Thomas P. Marsh (Libby) of Southern Pines; daughter Kelduyn Ruth Garland of Silver City, NM; four grandchildren - Marguerite 'Molli' Marsh Beeson (James Wallace) of Pinehurst, Katherine 0. Marsh of Southern Pines, William H. Marsh III (Kelly) of Sarasota, Fla. and Nathan Garland of Las Vegas, NV.; five great grandchildren - Marguerite Wallace Beeson of Pinehurst, Shelby Marsh, Grant Marsh, Hannah Marsh and Bridget Marsh of Sarasota, Fla. A memorial service is planned for 2 PM on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church; 330 S. May Street; Southern Pines, NC. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to First Health Hospice Foundation; 150 Applecross Road; Pinehurst, NC 28374; or to Brownson Presbyterian Women Scholarship Fund at the above address
