Robert Hawthorne

Mr. Robert M. Hawthorne of Raeford, NC passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 at FirstHealth Hospice House surrounded by his family at the age of 87.Mr. Hawthorne was born June 2, 1930 in Endicott, NY.He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was employed with IBM for 38 years before he retired. His hobbies were fishing, golfing and spending time with his family, especially his great-grandson Peyton.Mr. Hawthorne is survived by his wife of 59 years Penny Hawthorne of Raeford, NC, 2 sons Rob Hawthorne and his wife Susan of Jackson, NJ., Dean Hawthorne and his wife Katherine of Indian Trail, NC., a daughter Susan Rogers and her husband Mike of Raeford , 6 grandchildren, Joe Hawthorne, Jennifer Hawthorne, Brittany McLeod and her husband Joshua, Jake Rogers, Morgan Rogler and her husband David and Nicole Rogers, 3 great-grandchildren, Peyton, Madison and Paul, a brother Jack Hawthorne and his wife Susan of Endicott, NY.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to FirstHealth Hospice, PO. Box 5889 Pinehurst, NC 28374.A memorial service will be held at a later date.
