Mrs. Sarah McFadyen Maxwell of Raeford passed away at her home on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the age of 96. Mrs. Maxwell was born in Hoke County on Feb. 3, 1921 to the late Leonard McFadyen and Stella Chason McFadyen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Maxwell. Mrs. Maxwell was a member of Raeford United Methodist Church and was employed with the Bank of Raeford, which is now BB&T, before she retired. She is survived by her daughter, Pat M. Walker and her husband John of Sanford, 3 grandchildren Mitzi Barber (Mike), John Walker, Michael Wayne Walker (Beth), and 6 great-grandchildren Jonathan, Kennedy, Chase, McKenzie, Collin and Clay. Visitation will be held 2-3pm Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Raeford United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Funeral Services will be held 3pm Monday, October 30, 2017 at Raeford United Methodist Church with Reverend Brian Wingo officiating. Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Raeford United Methodist Church 308 Main Street, Raeford, NC 28376.
