William "Gus" Spencer Bowman, IV of 10 Dundee Rd in Pinehurst died on Friday, August 26, 2016 in the FirstHealth Hospice House at the age of 65. Mr. Bowman was born on June 25, 1951 in Washington D.C.. He was preceded in death by his father, William Spencer Bowman, III and his sister, Tamara Jane Bowman Hodson. He leaves behind his mother, Gay Smith Bowman of Pinehurst; his brothers, Thomas Lindsay Bowman and his wife Carolyn of Aberdeen, James Peter Bowman and his wife Mary of Memphis, TN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held 7:00 PM on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Community Presbyterian Church, 125 Everett Rd in Pinehurst with the Reverend Rod Stone officiating. A graveside memorial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in the Galatia Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends following the service on Tuesday at the home of Gay Bowman, 10 Dundee Rd, Pinehurst, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Given Memorial Library, 150 Cherokee Rd, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
