Daryel Lee Garnes

Mr. Daryel Lee Garnes, of Raeford passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home on March 03, 2024 at the age of 75.

Daryel was born in Ohio on December 30, 1948 to the late Harry and Joy Garnes.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Garnes; son, Daryel Lee Garnes, Jr.; and old brother, David Garnes.

Daryel was drafted into the Army at the age of 18 and did two tours in Vietnam. He was a proud Purple Heart recipient among several other awards.

He was a hardworking man who always stood up for what he thought was right. He could make anyone laugh, and loved living life.

He is survived by his sons, Alex Garnes (Alicia) and Jeff Garnes (Thea); grandsons, Daryel Lee Garnes III, Ethan Garnes, Will Garnes, and Scott Garnes; two siblings, Debbie and Rick; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 2-3 p.m at Crumpler Funeral Home 131 Harris Avenue, Raeford, NC 28376.

A service will follow at 3 p.m with Reverend Dr. Michael Martin officiating.

Burial will be held in the Raeford Cemetery with full military honors.
