Joyce Patrick Faircloth was born on October 1, 1942 and departed this earthly world on April 16, 2024. She was daughter to Sarah Catherine Atkinson Lee and Charlie Lee. Joyce was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Howard Faircloth, and her siblings Priscilla Lee, Carl Lee, Carol Beasley and Tracy Beasley. She is survived by her only daughter Dana Haglund, and two grandchildren Ava and Tucker Haglund along with her brother Buddy Lee (wife Rosie) and many nieces and nephews.
By nature, Joyce was a caregiver, and loved people of all ages. She truly wore her heart on her sleeve and would do anything for anyone. She loved to spend time with family and friends, enjoy a milkshake on hot summer days, and do crossword puzzles while looking out at the scenery and foliage around her. In the evenings, she kept sharp by watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, and would always write down important dates of what was coming up. Like the next Duke Men’s basketball game, or the next storm that could affect the area. Joyce would always tell her love ones “see you later, I love you” because she didn’t like the word “goodbye”.
She certainly did leave an imprint of kindness; even in her last days the reports given by nurses and doctors were that her mood was always “pleasant”. This is exactly how she would like to be remembered.
A graveside service will be held in the Raeford Cemetery on Tuesday, April 23rd at 11 am with Pastor Roger Burns officiating.
