Alda Grace McKay went to her eternal rest on Saturday morning, October 14, 2017 following a long struggle with Alzheimers. She was a resident of Cornelius, NC, a former resident of Sanford NC, Fayetteville NC and was a native of Dunn. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Nannie B Westbrook McLean and Rufus Irby McLean. Grace graduated from Dunn High School with perfect attendance through all 12 grades. It was no surprise that Grace found her calling in the banking industry for over 20 years. She was always organized and punctual. Grace was an avid reader, sang in the church choir, a great cook (especially sweets), a great seamstress and porcelain doll maker (hand made all the clothes for her dollsmany of which won blue ribbons). Grace loved her husband William 'Bill' McKay Sr. and he loved her. Grace especially loved her daughters and her grandchildren. Holidays were always special for Grace having her family at home. Grace had a special place in her heart for her dogs which were never far from her sideWe know she is glad to see them all again. Survivors include her daughters Suzanne J. Carter of Fort Mill, SC, Mary J. Norwood of Waxhaw, NC and Jane Brainard of Raleigh, NC; three grandchildren, Shannan Smith, Bryan Smith and John Seagondollar; six great grandchildren Emma Shepherd, Simon Wilson, Catherine and Nicholas Smith, Joshua and Rebecca Seagondollar and Great Great grandson Grayson Sheppard. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, October 20, 2017 at Philadelphus Presbyterian Church in Red Springs, NC in the Church Cemetery.
