Archie Hilburn McLeod Jr.,age 67, of Hampstead, passed away Friday, August 10, 2018 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.Archie was born at Fort Dix, NJ on February 12, 1951 the son of the late Archie Hilburn McLeod, Sr. and Susan Alice Buie McLeod. He was retired from DuPont as a chemical engineer and was working at Pine Valley United Methodist Church until his health would not permit and where he and his wife are devoted long time members. He grew up in Robinson County and moved to Wilmington in 1969 where he and his wife made there home, and raised there family.Surviving are his wife of 44 years Shirley Burnside McLeod; son, Daniel Jason McLeod and wife Jessica of Ft. Mill, SC; daughters, Kelly M. Bourgeois and husband Todd and Maggie M. Johnson and husband Jake, all of Wilmington; sisters, Catherine J. Perrell and Marcia E. Pinyan, both of Charlotte, and Mary Anne Crawford of Wilmington; grandchildren, Rowan McLeod, Olivia Bourgeois, and Dawson Johnson.Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, August 13, 2018 at Pine Valley United Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. Timothy Reaves officiating.
