Leta Stokes Obituary

Leta Hooker Stokes passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC. Mrs. Stokes was born in Jonesboro, AR on June 24, 1952 to the late James E. Hooker and Aleta Jones Hooker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Stokes and 4 brothers, Darrell Hooker, David Kelly, William Berry and Patrick Hooker. Survivors include three daughters, Shelly Stokes and Karen Goulart, both of Raeford and Elizabeth Stokes-Kunts of KS. Four brothers, Bruce Berry, Robert Berry, Dewayne Hooker ad Tony Hooker. Seven sisters, Judy Garner, Teresa Marcos, Lisa Snead, Sherry Godoy, Carina Barry, Joan Weger and Betty Reeves. Five grandchildren, Melissa Stokes, Shayla Stokes, Jacob Goulart, Amanda Goulart and Regan Kuntz. One great granddaughter, Mya Murry. Her Step-Mother, Ethel Hooker. The family will receive family and friends between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00 PM on Wednesday, November 15 at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford. A graveside service will be at 12:00 noon on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
