Mrs. Louise C. Burns of Shannon passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 in Southeastern Regional Medical Center at the age of 95. Mrs. Burns was born in Hoke County on August 17, 1922 to the late Hilton Caulk and Evelyn Quick Caulk. She was a longtime member of the baptist church in Rennert for many years before it closed. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, Louise enjoyed working in her garden. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Burns; her brother, Hubert and Alton Caulk, and her sister, Pete Flowers. She is survived by her sons, Clifton Burns of Leland, Jimmy Burns and his wife, Marilyn of Hampstead, Cecil Burns of Rennert; 10 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 28, 2017 between the hours of 1-2pm at Crumpler Funeral Home in Red Springs. Funeral services will begin at 2pm in the Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Charles A. Kempf officiating. Burial will be in the Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.
