Marjorie Johnson Obituary

Marjorie Mary (Ureche) Johnson of Raeford passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 70 years old. She was surrounded by family and friends. Marjorie is survived by her husband, Richard; her two children; Shelly Marie Burrows and her grandson Zachariah Alexander Burrows of Raeford, NC; Tammy Ann Colley, her husband Danny of Raeford, NC; her two grandchildren Brittany Musial-Barrosse and her fianc Daniel Aljure; her two great-grandchildren, Mary-Kate Aljure and Christian Aljure of Apex, NC; Danny Wayne Colley Jr. of Raeford; her step-son Christopher Johnson of Homer, AK; her sisters Clara Joan (Jody) Reay and her husband David of Rougemont, NC; Brenda Joyce Matzke of Birch Run, MI; and Vincent Ureche and his wife Karleen of Birch Run, MI. She was preceded in death by her mother Fannie Elizabeth Ureche and her father Vincent Ureche of Birch Run, MI. She also had two nieces, Tish Lyn Sen and her great-niece Priya Jane Sen and great-nephew, Armaan Jayden Sen of Lansing, IL; Sarah Michelle Bernard, her husband Andrew (Bruno) Bernard and two great-nieces, Otillia June Elaine Bernard and Adaline Kyle Bernard of Burt, MI; her two nephews, Matthew Mark Matzke of Reese, MI; Graham Vincent Reay, his wife Heather Eleanora and their furbaby, Myphany of York, SC. Marjorie was born on November 19, 1946 in Saginaw County, MI and went to Birch Run High School. She held several jobs throughout her life, but the path that she loved most was being a homemaker. She loved planting flowers and her green-thumb is only rivaled by that of her mother. She was the type of woman that could walk into a room full of strangers and by the time she left, they were friends. Marjories best friend, Pauline Cummings shared a deep bond. They were born on the same day and year. Pauline was by Marjories side in those final moments. Marjorie met her husband through her neighbor while she lived in Youngstown, Ohio and they never looked back. They spent the next thirty years together, building their lives until they retired to Raeford, NC. to be near family. Marjorie loved spending time her brother Vincent (Finny), her sister Brenda (Joyce), and her sister Clara (Jody), were also very close. They would often go on vacations together where they became "Thelma and Louise". Marjorie, her daughter Shelly and grandson Zachariah (Bug) also spent a lot of time together. They enjoyed going "garage sale-ing" and would go for drives and try to get lost. Zachariah affectionately called her "Naneena". She and Zachariah would get into shenanigans all the time. She was also very proud of her two older grandchildren. Brittany became a nurse and when she was pregnant with her first child, Marjorie couldnt be happier. She simply could not believe she was a great grandmother. Danny Jr. also made her very proud. He graduated this past year as Salutatorian of Hoke County High School and is currently in college at UNC-Chapel Hill. Since the family is holding a private memorial service for her, donations can be made to an animal shelter in her name.
