Mr. Sydney Lee Green of Aberdeen passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 at his home, at the age of 81.Mr. Green was born in Alabama on January 25, 1937 to the late Lewis Henry Green and Virgil Blankinship Green. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ruth Wilson Green.Mr. Green was a member of Ashley Heights Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired with the State of North Carolina.He is survived by 3 sons, Dwight Green of Aiken, SC., David Green (Brooke) of Siler City, NC, Donald Ghant (Michelle) of Aiken, SC., 2 daughters Shirley McFadyen of Vass, NC., Sonja Sullivan (Johnny) of Carthage, NC., 3 step children, 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 sister Tommie Fields of Harpersville. ALA visitation will be held 6-8pm Thursday May 31, 2018 at Crumpler Funeral Home 40229 US 1 Hwy. Aberdeen, NC.A funeral service will be held 3:00pm Friday, June 1, 2018 at Ashley Heights Baptist Church 10351 Aberdeen Road, Aberdeen, NC, with the Reverend Donald Vinson officiating.Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association : act.alz.org/donate.
