Tracy W. Stephens Jr. 71 of Sanford passed away Friday, February 9, 2018. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Wilburn Lofts located on Main Street in Raeford on March 3, 2018 beginning at 10 am. Inurnment will be in the Raeford Cemetery following the service with military honors.Tracy is preceded in death by his parents, Tracy W. Stephens Sr. and Margaret Yarborough Stephens. Tracy was a proud graduate of Pembroke State University class of 1974. He served in the Army and was a Vietnam War veteran. He retired as a Field Tax Auditor with the Employment Security Commission. He was a lifelong member of both the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Sanford Moose Lodge. He loved to ballroom dance, fellowship with friends, participate in Bible studies and reading. Tracy is survived by his former spouse, Carolyn D. Stephens and their three children; daughter Angela S. Doiron (John) of Indian Trail; sons Marcus Stephens (Jackie) of Greensboro, Michael Stephens (Ashley) of Sanford; five grandchildren, Nathan, Jonathan, Tucker, Gemma and Joshua; sister Catherine S. Campbell (Steve) of Kings Mountain.
