Wayne Avon Christian

Wayne A. Christian Sr departed this life Sunday, January 20, 2019 at his home in North Carolina after a long battle with cancer.Wayne was born in Northampton County, Virginia on September 20, 1955 to the union of the late Albert and Lillie Mae Christian. He graduated from Northampton High School in 1973 and joined the United States Army in which he served for 20 years and retired in 1997.After retiring from the military Wayne began working for the State Department of Kansas until resigning for health reasons in 2014. He moved to North Carolina where he would live out the remainder of his life with the support of his dedicated and loyal wife.Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Terrelle Christian of Raeford, NC, two sons, Wayne Christian Jr (Andi) of Raeford NC, Jermaine Christian (Sylvia) of Great Bend, KS, three grandchildren, Jakob Christian of Junction City, KS, Laneya Christian of Raeford, NC and Wayne Christian III of Raeford, NC. He is also survived by two brothers, Larry Christian (Myrna) of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael Christian (Theresa) of Raleigh, NC and a host of other relatives and friends.The family will receive relatives and friends at the family home, 534 Stonebriar Avenue, Raeford, NC following the service.A memorial service given by the countrys military "Honoring Those Who Served" will be held at 10:00am, Friday, January 25, 2019 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, NC.The family would like to thank everyone for their love, thoughts and prayers, through this difficult time.
