Catherine (Jones) McNeill

Mrs. Catherine Jones McNeill went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 16, 2022. She was a resident of Autumn Care of Raeford. Mrs. McNeill was born in Hoke County on September 28, 1927, to the late John Allen and Willa Conoly Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband John Henry (Buck) McNeill and two sons. Mickey McNeill, Tony McNeill, and a daughter-in-law Judy McNeill.  All seven of her siblings preceded her in death.

Mrs. McNeill was married to John Henry (Buck) McNeill for 66 years. They lived in Antioch and raised five children.

She grew up on the Jones Family farm where she learned about the love of family and hard work. Mrs. McNeill was a lifelong member of Antioch Presbyterian Church. She served as a Diaconate and was a member of Women of the Church. Mrs. McNeill received the Honorary Presbyterian Woman of the year award. She loved her Lord, Her family, and all her many friends. Mrs. McNeill worked at Burlington Industries for 18 years and B.C. Moore for 10 years. She was a member and President of the Home Extension Club, a volunteer with Hospice where she received the Volunteer of the year award, and organized the Lunch Bunch where many local ladies ate lunch and socialized.

She is survived by her children Jodi McNeill Onachila (Greg), Allen Jones McNeill (Roseanne) David Robert McNeill (Bichha), and a daughter-in-law Tami Chastain. She had eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Avenue Raeford.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Antioch Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jim Smith officiating. Inurnment will be held in the church cemetery.
