Mr. Dewey F. Inman of Raeford went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, in his home surrounded by his family at the age of 89.
Mr. Inman was born in Bladen County on January 21, 1932, to the late James D. Inman and Katie Cook Inman. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Raeford, NC and was a devoted follower of Hayes Barton Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC. Prior to moving back to Raeford, Dewey and his wife Peggy, were former residents of Twin Harbor community in Mt. Gilead. NC where he was a well-respected neighbor and friend. One of his favorite pastimes was cruising the streets of Raeford on his red golf cart making him the “President of the Red Golf Cart Association.” He was a proud supporter of the Hoke County Athletic Department. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Inman of Raeford, NC; his children Debbie Sharpe and her husband Mitch of Southern Pines NC; Allan Inman and his wife Sandy of Knightdale, NC; Rosemary Plummer and her husband Donald of Fayetteville NC; Keith Inman and his wife Kathy of Rockingham, NC; Lisa Currie of Fayetteville, NC; Mike Cook and his wife Elaina of Raeford, NC and Sheri Thomas and her husband Brian of Greensboro, NC; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; two sisters Mary Frances Howell of Laurinburg, NC and Doris Webb of Wallace, NC along with many nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, January 14, 2022, at the Raeford Cemetery with Reverend Thomas Lee officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
