Edna Faye (Barefoot) Hiatt

Edna Faye Barefoot Hiatt, 85, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021. She was born May 25, 1936 in Cumberland County to the late James and Lizzie Barefoot.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Debra Lynn Butler Patterson, and Brenda Kaye Cecil; one sister, and four brothers. She is survived by her children, William Richard Butler, and Pamela Butler; grandchildren, Michael (Leslie) Patterson, Allen (Jennifer) Cecil, Stevie (Emma) Cecil, and Jason Cecil; great-grandchildren, Todd Patterson, Rhianna Patterson, and Kaitlin Patterson; brothers, Wilbert (Linda) Barefoot, and James (Betty) Barefoot. She was a good Christian lady, she never met a stranger, and was the type of person that you automatically loved her when you met her. Edna was a fun-loving person, she loved dancing, and she loved all types of music, especially classic country. She was a giving and loving person, she enjoyed making crafts, interior design, and she was extremely energetic until her health began to decline. She dearly loved her family and her son, Richard was her “Icon”. A special thank you to Richard, as he was by his mother’s side loving and caring for her every need; their bond was inseparable. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Raeford City Cemetery in Raeford, NC. Online condolences may also be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
