Mr. Gary Adron Akers of Aberdeen passed away Thursday, April 28, 2021 at the age of 78.

Mr. Akers was born Henry County Il., on March 29, 1943 to the late Adron O. Akers and Florence Akers of Plymouth, Illinois.

He is also preceded in death by his wife Claudette Akers of Carmi, Il., and a sister Rachel Thomas of Lomax, IL.

He is survived by his children Sherry Akers of Aberdeen, NC., Vicki Strickland (Marvin) of Raeford, Joya Sobolewski (Mark) of Carpenterville, IL., Bryan Akers of Corinth, MS., two brothers, Calvin Akers (Dottie) of Lake Panasoffkee, FL., Eldon Dean Akers, (Rita) of Littleton, IL, Joyia Hoyt (Duane) of Carthage, IL., Bonnie Mayall (Keith) of Plymouth, IL., 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

A private memorial service will be held later.
