Mrs. Jacqueline Hodgin Singleton formerly of Red Springs passed away on September 2, 2021 FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst at the age of 94.
Mrs. Singleton was born in Hoke County on November 26, 1926, to the late John Angus Hodgin Jr. and Elizabeth Legette Hodgin. She was preceeded in death by two sisters Elizabeth Hodgin Guy formerly of Mobile, Alabama and Christine Hodgin Bond formerly of Rowland, NC.
She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Flora McDonald College in Red Springs in 1961. She later retired in 1995 after over 30 years of service as Administrative Assistant to the President of St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, NC. She was a long-time member of the Red Springs Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by one son Roy DeVone Singleton III (Jackie) of Carolina Shores, NC; one grandson Roy DeVone Singleton IV, 3 grandchildren, Peyton D. Singleton, Jordan C. Singleton and Thomas W. Singleton; and two nieces and one nephew.
A graveside memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Alloway Cemetery in Red Springs.
