Larry Allen Woodcox

Mr. Larry Allen Woodcox Sr. of Hoke County went home to be with his Lord and Savior, with his family at his bedside on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the age of 74.

Larry was born on September 29, 1947, in Hoke County, to the late Robert Oliver Woodcox and Nellie Brisson Woodcox.  He was preceded in death by his precious son, Larry Allen Woodcox Jr. (Allen), as well as a brother Bobby Woodcox, and two sisters Frances Blake and Helen Lentz.  

Larry was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church and retired from Burlington Industries after 50 years of employment.  He enjoyed fishing at Carolina and Kure Beaches, hunting for a big buck (hoping for a 12-point), and growing a beautiful garden full of vegetables that he shared with family and friends.  Larry was also known for raising quail for years and could cook them to perfection.  

Larry is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Pat Black Woodcox of Hoke County, a loving daughter, Christina (Tina) Woodcox Bernhardt and her husband Royce of Raeford, NC, a brother David Earl Woodcox of Raeford, NC and two sisters Nellie Haselden (Bill) of Raeford, NC and Gail Dudash (Bob) of Harper’s Ferry, WV.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Thursday at Ephesus Baptist Church, 4750 Arabia Rd. Raeford, NC 28376.

A service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at Ephesus Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Sanderson officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery following the service.
