Vera (Britt) Barnes

Mrs. Vera Britt Barnes of Raeford went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at FirstHealth Hoke Campus at the age of 89.

Mrs. Barnes was born in Lumberton NC on July 25, 1932, to the late Verbie Britt and Lydia Vendrick Britt. She was preceded death by her husband M.G. Barnes. Mrs. Barnes was a member of Raeford First Baptist Church and retired from Burlington Industries. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughter Tara Barnes Walton and her husband Ronald of Ft. Myers Fl. two son Michael Gerald Barnes of Aberdeen, NC and Christopher Dale Barnes of Raeford, NC; six grandchildren; Sarah, Janice, Karen, Jessica, Sean and Tabitha. Six great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday September 12, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Raeford with Reverend Tom Lee officiating.

The family will receive friend after the service at the church.
