At an early age, Frank Crumpler of Clinton, NC., knew that he wanted to be in funeral service. In 1956 he graduated from The Cincinnati College of Embalming, today know as Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. After graduating, Frank began working with Jernigan & Warren Funeral Home located in Fayetteville, NC. Frank was working a funeral service in the Raeford Cemetery with Jernigan Warren Funeral Home, where he met Dayne Capps of Rockfish. They began their courtship and soon after married. They had three children, two sons, F. Kemp Crumpler, Kelvin Crumpler or Kel as he is called today, and a daughter, Kalen Crumpler Wilhide. In 1960 they purchased and opened their first funeral home. Since that time, all of their children became licensed by the state to offer services as funeral professionals.
Frank and Dayne’s second child, Kel, currently manages the day to day operations at the main office, Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford initially where the Crumpler Legacy began. Over the years, Kel has proven that he has the gift of providing the best care for the families he serves. Kel has great compassion for families he has served since the late 1980s. Kel and Kim Crumpler were married in 1999 and currently reside in Raeford. Kim was employed as a nurse with a local home health and hospice agency in Raeford for thirteen years prior to coming to work with Crumpler Funeral Home as office manager.
